We are a 501(c)3 fundraising nonprofit organization that utilizes 100% of profits from selling uniquely designed clothing to empower nonprofit organizations aimed at sustainably breaking the cycle of poverty in the Middle East. In other words, we’re a nonprofit for nonprofits. We help them fundraise in novel ways by tapping into unexplored revenue streams, such as merchandise sales and corporate matching programs.
Every two quarters, we partner with a different nonprofit organization to select a campaign that aligns with our mission. Our responsibility is to creatively fundraise in support of these campaigns. Currently, Project Break The Cycle’s main fundraising streams are external merchandise sales and internal corporate matching programs. In our merchandise sales, we design and market unique lines of clothing where 100% of profits are donated to our active campaign (visit our Shop). In our corporate programs, our corporate partners match all employee donations several times over. All donations over the duration of an active campaign (two quarters) go towards that specific campaign.
The idea of Project Break The Cycle started when a tight-knit group of friends consistently noticed a lack of transparency in fundraising initiatives from large nonprofit organizations. What started out as a way to combine our hobbies in fashion design and business management eventually led to Project Break The Cycle - a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that leverages creative fundraising mechanisms to empower other reputable and transparent NPOs. During our premiere Cherry Blossom sweatshirt sale, we developed a network of supporters that empathized with our cause and promoted the PBTC mission. And we haven’t looked back since.
